Zolo Marketing Group (“we”, “us”) is a marketing agency in Vancouver, B.C. This page explains what personal information we collect through zolomarketing.com, why, and what you can do about it. We follow British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
When you fill in a form on this site (the Brutally Honest Review request form, the pop-up contact form, or the review tool), we collect what you type in:
- your name;
- your email address;
- your phone number;
- your business name or website address;
- anything you write in a message box.
We don’t collect payment information on this site, and we don’t buy or rent contact lists.
Why we collect it
- to reply to your request and book your 15-minute call;
- to prepare your Brutally Honest Review, which looks at your public business information: your website, your Google listing and your reviews;
- to send you our occasional local-marketing tips, only if you ticked the box asking for them.
Sending us an inquiry lets us reply to that inquiry. It doesn’t sign you up for marketing emails. That needs your separate “yes”.
Website analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 and Jetpack Stats (by Automattic) to understand how people use the site: pages visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device they use. These tools use cookies and similar technology. They don’t tell us your name. You can block cookies in your browser settings or use Google’s opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout). Our site also runs through Cloudflare and Wordfence, which see technical data like IP addresses to keep the site fast and secure.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that run our business, such as our website host, email provider and the analytics tools above, and only so they can do that job. Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example, in the United States), where it may be subject to local law.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry details for as long as we need them to respond and keep normal business records, and no longer than two years after our last contact with you, unless you become a client.
Unsubscribe, access, correct or delete
- Unsubscribe: every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or just reply “unsubscribe”. We act on it within 10 business days, as CASL requires.
- See, correct or delete your information: email info@zolomarketing.com. We’ll respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires.
- Withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
